Berries allows you to tailor Treatment Plan templates to fit your clinical workflow. You can start from one of our built-in templates, create your own from scratch, or generate a template from an existing Treatment Plan that already reflects your preferred structure and approach. Here’s how:
1. Customize a Built-In Treatment Plan Template
1.1. Accessing the Treatment Plan Template Library
Open the Berries Templates library by clicking Templates in the Berries header.
Switch to the Treatment Plan filter.
Select the Template you want to edit, and click Customize.
1.2. Name your template
By default, the new version will be named like the original with “(Copy)” added. We recommend renaming it to something more personalized, like “My Treatment Plan”.
1.3. Add or Remove Sections
You can customize the structure of each template by either adding built-in sections (just start typing in the search bar and choose from the list), or by creating a section from scratch and specifying the following options:
Section Title - such as “Medical Summary” or “Goals”.
Style - Paragraph or Bullet points.
Length - Concise or Standard.
Section Content - Describe what you'd like to include in each section.
Example: “Define the primary treatment goals and measurable objectives based on the client’s presenting concerns. Include expected outcomes and criteria for tracking progress over time.”
You can also remove any section that doesn't fit your workflow, giving you full control over the structure of your notes.
1.4. Arrange the Section Order
Drag and drop from the Table of Contents or use the arrows to reorder the sections.
Put them in the order that fits your natural documentation flow.
1.5. Save your template
Once your template is ready, click Save as New.
You’ll now see this template available in your template selector when you generate a new treatment plan.
Try it out, review the plan, and adjust if needed.
2. Build a Treatment Plan Template from Scratch

2.4. Add and Set Up Sections
You can customize the structure of your Treatment Plan template by adding built-in plan sections (start typing in the search bar and choose from the list), or by creating your own section from scratch. For each section, you’ll be able to define:
Section Title - such as “Goals and Objectives” or “Presenting Problems”.
Style - choose Paragraph or Bullet points.
Length - select Concise or Standard.
Section Instructions - describe what you’d like Berries to include in this section.
Example: “Describe the primary goals for treatment. Include expected outcomes and progress indicators.”
2.5. Arrange the Section Order
Use the Table of Contents to drag and drop sections into the order that fits your workflow. You can also use the arrows to reorder sections quickly.
