Based on the session, Berries can suggest a primary billing code, along with relevant add-on codes when they apply. You’ll always remain in control and can review the suggestions to decide what’s right for each session.
Billing Code Suggestions are available to clinicians on the Berries Pro Plan. To activate Billing Code Suggestions, upgrade to the Berries Pro Plan.
1. First-Time Setup
Billing Code Suggestions use CPT® code data licensed by the American Medical Association (AMA).
Before using Billing Code Suggestions for the first time, you’ll be asked to complete a one-time opt-in and provide your name and practice location. This is required as part of the AMA licensing requirements and only needs to be completed once.
2. Where to Find Billing Code Suggestions
After completing a session and generating your note, scroll to the CPT Codes section on the note page.
There, you’ll see the billing codes Berries suggests based on the session.
3. Reviewing Your Billing Code Suggestions
Berries may provide:
Primary Billing Code - The primary code Berries suggests for the session.
Add-On Codes - Additional codes that may apply based on the services provided during the session.
Justification - An explanation of why Berries suggested the code based on the information from the session.
